New Release Details

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition’s successor is already certified

Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition last year in Korea. This was a foldable phone that was thinner and lighter than the mainstream Galaxy Z Fold6, while also packing bigger screens – both the folding one and the cover display.

Thus, it’s everything we wanted the Fold6 to be, but it only launched in Korea first, and then in China, where it’s called Samsung W25. Now, the Samsung W26, this model’s successor, has already been certified for sale in China by the relevant authorities.

It’s unclear if this means we should expect it to make its debut much earlier in the year than the W25, which landed in November. But it is definitely a possibility. The W26 will only support 25W wired charging, which is typical for Samsung. It won’t have a charger in the box, unsurprisingly. It will have satellite connectivity.

These are all the details revealed by the certification, we will of course let you know when we find out more about this device. In the meantime, Samsung is getting ready to make the Galaxy Z Fold7 official on the global stage alongside the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Flip7 FE at its Unpacked event on July 9.
