Huawei Pura 80 series goes international

Huawei announced its Pura 80 series in China last month, and it is now ready to bring the Pura 80, 80 Pro and 80 Ultra to international markets. These are Huawei’s flagship offerings for 2025, and the Pura 80 Ultra stands out from the rest with its switchable telephoto lenses and 1″ main sensor.

Before we delve deeper, a few quick words on availability. The Pura 80 Ultra costs AED5,100 in the UAE, which equals $1,400, but in Europe it’s going to be €1,500 for its only 512/16GB version. The Pro is €1,099 with the same amount of storage and 12GB RAM.

Huawei also has the phones at its regional pages in Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, which is clear indication that the Pura 80 series will be sold in those regions.

Huawei keeps on making tech breakthroughs in the camera department, fitting a 1/1.28-inch periscope telephoto sensor (50MP) attached to two lenses on the Pura 80 Ultra. You get an 83mm f/2.4 (3.7x) equivalent short telephoto with 50MP shots and a 212mm f/3.6 (10x) one for longer shots which covers 12.5MP. Huawei added a micron-level motor that switches between the two zoom lenses, with the whole setup consisting of over 140 components.
