Redmi K80 Ultra disassembled ahead of launch

While the Redmi K80 Ultra is still not officially launched, tech bloggers across China already have the device in hand and some have posted their initial impressions and even full teardowns of the device. Popular teardown experts WekiHome took apart the upcoming flagship killer and we now have a clear picture of what to expect.

K80 Ultra features a fiberglass back with a frosted finish and a quad curved metal frame, and a metal camera island. The front features a 6.83-inch LTPS OLED (FHD+ 144Hz) with symmetrical bezels. The panel is manufactured by TCL and features Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass protection. Redmi K80 Ultra weighs 223.5 grams.

Once the back plate is removed, we can see the motherboard, as well as a massive thermal pad over the battery. Sadly, there is no wireless charging coil here.

The thermal pad extends to the top of the speaker assembly next to the dual cameras. It covers a combined area of 6,800 mm². The main section of the motherboard features additional thermal pads and copper foil.
